Pürminerals 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Foundation Review~!

Hey Guys~!

In a lot of posts and in my makeup tutorial, I have used or mentioned a powder from the company Pürminerals. At Ulta, where I got it, the lady there told me it was like a cheaper version of the Bareminerals powder foundations, so I decided to give it a try. I've had it for a few months and now have gotten more into wearing it. Therefore I thought it would be great to review it for all of you. So let's start~~!

I really like how this compact looks. It's a matte silver with dark grey dots. The compact itself is made of a sturdy material, so it won't break easily. Inside it has a mirror and then your product. This powder doesn't come with a brush or powder puff, which I assumed it would, but I don't mind.

The shade selection is quite large for a powder foundation. In the line there are eleven different shades offered on the Ulta website, which I was surprised about. The one I have is the lightest shade, which is Porcelain.

I absolutely love the texture of this powder. I've tried other powder foundations in the past, but they either offered no coverage or felt chalky on my skin. This one feels smooth and light, making application easy too.

Another thing I love is that this has SPF 15. I get sunburns really easily, and I haven't gotten one once while wearing this on my face. Since it's summer time, I haven't been into wearing a ton of heavy makeup. So most of the time I just apply this and some mascara and feel great.

On the Pürminerals websites, this product claims to give you flawless coverage, correct and prevent any imperfections,  brighten the look of dark spots and age spots, and to smooth skin. Some of these claims aren't nessecarry for me, especially the anti-aging properties, so I'll tell you all my results for everything else.

Coverage wise I'd say this powder is very buildable. It can give the 'no makeup' look, but still can create medium coverage. I wouldn't say flawless or full because for me it doesn't cover my dark circles, so I need a concealer there.

I took a picture for me just wearing the powder, not even any concealer under my eyes. It covers up my redness and most of my dark circles under my eyes.

Without eye makeup I look dead -.-"
I'm not entirely sure if this corrects and prevents anything, since I do have a strict skin care routine and I have pretty clear skin. So I can't really say if it does this.

I also can't say if this brightens age and dark spots, mainly cause I don't really have those either.

The smoothing affect of this product is alright. When I wear this, my skin looks and feels great. However it does sometimes extenuate the minimal dry patches I have, which is frustrating for me.

This foundation costs $27.00, which for a high end foundation is quite reasonable. I've never been able to find a good mineral foundation at the drugstore, or any powder that compares to this one. So I'm completely fine spending a fair amount for this.

As you can see, I really do like this product. Although it's a bit pricey and I don't receive all the benefits it promises, it still does a great job of being a mineral foundation. Like I said, there's not been a drugstore product I've tried that gives the same or even similar results. So if you're looking for a mineral foundation, I'd definitely give this one a try.

I hope you guys all enjoyed my review on the Pürminerals Pressed Mineral Foundation. If you have any questions or have a request for a review, let me know in the comments. Thank you guys so much for reading and I'll see you at my next post.

August Favorites 2013~!

Hey Guys~!

It's already the end of August ;_; School starts in two weeks for me, so I won't be able to post as often as I do. But I'll try to.

Anyways I'm going to show you guys my monthly favorites. I have a bunch of stuff to tell you guys about so let's get started~!

Makeup

Like last month, I've been into wearing light, natural looking makeup. Although I did try experimenting with some new products and techniques.

I've been loving my Skin79 B.B. Cream this month. I haven't worn any foundation this month because I like this so much. It has SPF 25 PA++ which is great since I burn easily. It feels light and applies well with either my hands or a damp sponge for a natural skin finish. It doesn't conceal too much though, but I don't mind that in the summer. If you want to hear more about this B.B. Cream, I did a review on it here.

When I was on vacation, I had an uneven tan, so I used bronzer on my face. This one is by NYC and it's their Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder in the shade #720A Sunny. What I like about this is that it's a matte bronzer, so it looks more natural. Also it's extremely affordable. If you're pale like me, you can use this as contouring. But you have to be light handed with it or else it'll look like a huge mess.

My eyebrows were waxed incorrectly a few weeks ago, so I've been filling them in. What I use is the Milani Brow Fix Kit in the shade #1 Light. It comes with two brow powders, a taupe and a brown, a highlighting powder, a sponge applicator, an angled brush, and a mini tweezers. I've just used a mix of the two powders to fill in the sparse areas and I like how it looks.

I haven't been into eyeshadow a lot this month, but I have been tight lining and lining my waterline. For my tight line I've been using Rimmel Scandaleyes in #4 Taupe and for my waterline I've been using Rimmel Scandaleyes in #5 Nude. I talked about Nude in my last favorites post and I talked about both of these in my drugstore makeup kit.  They are both super creamy and pigmented. Also they last really well because they are waterproof.

For lips I've been wearing a lot of different Revlon products. My favorite though is the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in the shade #25 Sweetheart. It's a bright, kind of electric, pink which I like for the summer. It smells minty and applies smoothly. I don't build up the color too intensely though for everyday, but it still adds a nice pop of color.

Skin Care

Before applying my makeup, I've been using the Clean and Clear Morning Burst Hydrating Gel Moisturizer.  I'd been searching for a moisturizer for a while and when this came out, I decided to try it. It comes with 3 oz of product and is oil-free. It feels light and moisturizing without being too greasy. I love how soft it makes my skin feel and I do think it makes a great base for makeup.

I broke out really badly this month, so I tried a lot of facial cleansers. The one that cleared up my skin and I've loved in the past was the Neutrogena Rapid Clear Foaming Scrub. It comes with 4.2 oz of product and contains 2% Salicylic Acid.  It is nothing like any other face wash I've tried before. At first it feels like a scrub with all the beads. But if you rub it in more with water it foams up and turns into more of a cleanser than a scrub. I like a lot of products from the Rapid Clear line, but this is one of my favorites.

My last skin care favorite is my new exfoliating mask. It is the Freeman Feeling Beautiful Facial Polishing Mask with Charcoal and Black Sugar. I've tried A LOT of the Freeman Masks and I love all of them that I've tried. When I saw this at my local drugstore, I knew I had to try it. It is supposed to be, according to what it says, oil absorbing and an exfoliate. I have weird skin problems in the summer, so I've been using this twice a week, on Wednesday and Saturday, to help exfoliate my skin. The texture isn't to harsh feeling which I like, since I thought that it could possibly irritate my skin. It didn't and it's been my favorite mask.

Fashion

This month I've been wearing floral printed shirts a lot. I have two that I've been wearing constantly. One of them is by Love Change and I got it at TJmaxx. It's a grey, spaghetti strap tank top with a cut out down the front, covered in an ivory lace. The flowers are pink roses with green leaves. I don't remember how much this cost since I bought it a while ago.

The other top is by the company Eyeshadow and I also got it at TJmaxx. It's a turquoise color with pink and yellow flowers. It's a spaghetti strap tank like the other one.  It's cinched in under the bust line and the top has vertical ruffles. These two tops are both casual and super comfortable.

My most reached for bag has been this plaid patchwork one from the Bass Outlet. I got it last summer and I've been wearing it a ton. I've always liked plaid and for some reason this is the only plaid thing I own. There are so many colors in the plaid that it goes with a ton of different outfits. It has a ton of pockets making it easy for me to organize my stuff in it.  I don't think it's on the website anymore, but you can probably find something similar on Amazon or Ebay.

And those are my monthly favorites. I hope you guys enjoyed the post and comment at the bottom of the post with what your favorites were this month xo

Back to School Series: Must Haves for Your School Bag~!

Hey Guys~!

So here's my second post in my back to school series. If you want to see the previous back to school post click here. Today I'll be sharing my must haves for school, not including phone or keys, and just so you know not all are beauty related. These are all the things I make sure I have in my bag before going to school. So with that let's get started >.<

First thing I can never be without in school is a pack of gum. I like to have either spearmint or fruity gum and I keep it at easy access. Personally I like either Trident or Orbit gum, but you should always have gum or some other breath freshening item with you. If your school doesn't allow gum, bring some breath mints that your can chew on instead. You can get these tiny packs of gum for less than a dollar and they're great to hide in your pocket.

No matter what the season is, I always have chapped lips. So I try to bring some type of lip balm to school and I usually keep it in my pencil case so it's easy to find. Some of the lip balms I like are Maybelline Baby Lips (duh), LypSyl, and EOS. The Baby Lips is #10 Peppermint, the LypSyl just comes in one flavor, and my EOS is Summer Fruit. All of these can be bought at a local drugstore or Target and aren't too expensive.

This may just be me, but I hate having to use the water fountains in school. At my school they're either broken or gross looking. So I try to keep a water bottle with me. It doesn't matter if you bring a metal bottle or plastic one, you should always have water with you. If I'm not having water, I bring tea in a metal bottle so it stays warm. I like doing this either when it's cold or if I have a sore throat.

If you have any skin type and you're wearing makeup, it's always good just to have a powder compact or oil bloating sheets with you, especially if it's hot where you live or if you have oily skin. No one wants to look all shiny face, so if you need to just go into the bathroom and use your powder/oil sheets. Don't touch up your makeup during class, cause it just looks weird.

Having either hand wipes or hand sanitizer is a great thing to have in your school bag. There are a ton on germs in a school and it's good to clean your hands in some way before eating. This is the hand sanitizer I like from Bath and Body Works in the scent Wild berry.  You can buy these tiny hand sanitizers for around a dollar, I think, and they last a long time.

In my school, we can listen to music so I like to bring my headphones and mp3 to school. My IPod broke so now I have a MP3, deal with it. Anyways my headphones are from Philips and if you want them here's a link, to them on Amazon. I like listening to music in my art class personally and I like listening to music while walking to school and when I'm walking home.

When I have a free block, I like to go off campus to go either to Starbucks or anywhere really. So I always like to keep some cash with me. I never take more than $15.00 to school, just in case it gets stolen. Also my school has a school store so with the money I can purchase a snack in between classes.

Another product I think is great to have in school is either a mini body spray or roll on perfume. After gym class, you may want to freshen up and using a body spray/perfume along with a deodorant will help you smell great. This body spray I like is from Bath and Body Works in the scent Venice Dolce Berry.  My favorite perfume is Coach Poppy and you can get this roller ball one from Sephora with Poppy and Poppy Flower. I'll keep either of these in a separate bag, away from my binders and notebooks in case it somehow leaks.

If you don't want to take a spray or perfume, a scented lotion works too. I have a mini Paris Amour from Bath and Body Works that I take to school with me. It's not only great and making you smell nice, but if you get dry hands this will moisturize them.

I hope this list of must haves was helpful for you guys and comment with your must haves for school. See you guys at my next post xo~!
