The new Hunger Games movie has finally come out here in the states and I'm seeing it tomorrow~! To celebrate I decided to create a nail art look inspired by the movie. It's super easy to make, a little messy, and looks cool too.
You'll Need. . .
A Base Coat
Yellow Nail Polish
Orange Nail Polish
Red Nail Polish
Black Nail Polish
Gold Glitter Top Coat
Clear Top Coat
Nail Dotting Tool / Toothpick
Start by painting all of your nails with the base coat to protect your nails. Once it's dry quickly paint a stripe of yellow polish and then over lap the other three color polishes, orange, red, and black, till you get to the end of the nail, like this.
Then using the dotting tool or toothpick, marbleize the colors together to create a fire-like design. You can create whatever design you want and no matter what, this nail art look will be messy at some point.
It also will take a while to dry. Once it is you can choose to apply a gold glitter top coat and then a clear coat on top or just a clear top coat. And now we're done~!
Without Glitter
With Glitter
Hope you guys liked this nail art design. Comment if you've seen the Hunger Games: Catching Fire movie and tell me if you're on Team Peeta, Team Gale or Team Finnick. See you guys at my next post.
Tonight I'm going to a holiday/Thanksgiving party, so I'll be showing you guys how I'm getting ready.
I've already taken a shower and washed my face, so now it's Makeup Time~!
For my base I used the Clean and Clear Hydrating Gel Moisturizer all over my face. Then a put on some lip balm to moisturize my lips.
Now for the actual makeup part. First I applied my Covergirl + Olay Eye Rehab in 320 Fair/Light. Next I used my Skin79 Super+ B.B. Cream and I applied it with my hands so it absorbs better into the skin. To set everything I used the L'Oreal True Match powder in the shade N1 Soft Ivory.
For the eyes I started with my ELF eyelid Primer in Sheer and applied it all over my lids. Then I lightly filled in my brows using the Milani Brow Fix Brow Kit.
For my eyeshadow I'm using colors for the Urban Decay Naked Palette. First I applied the color Half Baked, a shimmery gold, all over my lids. Next taking a blending brush and the color Dark Horse, a dark brown with flecks of gold, apply it into the crease and blend it into the gold. With a small angled brush and the color Half Baked, blend it along the lower lash line. Then with the same brush apply Dark Horse on the outer lower lash line. Lastly I used the color Virgin, a shimmery highlight color, on the inner corner and brow bone.
Then using my Rimmel Scandaleyes liner in #1 Black, I applied it to my tight line, upper lash line and lower lash line. And now I curl my lashes and apply mascara. I used the Maybelline Mega Plush and then Maybelline The Rocket on top of it.
For my cheeks I used Benefit's Box Powder in Dandelion and dusted it over my cheeks.
I applied another layer of lip balm before my lip stick. The lip color I used was Revlon Super Lustrious in #616 Wink for Pink.
For my hair I used the Not my Mother's Kinky Moves Hair Cream to scrunch my hair and created curls and volume.
For my nails I decided to wear this set of imPRESS nails called Casting Call. The color is a deep burgundy color, which I thought would look great for the fall/winter. For my toes, I painted them in Sally Hansen's Pat on Black and it's a deep purple color. This is the old packaging so I don't know if the color exists anymore.
Now time for the outfit~!
Dress: Target
Belt: Wet Seal
Tights: Forever21
Shoes: Bass Outlet
Necklace: Forver21
Ring: Forever21
Earrings: Forever21

I saw some new displays from Revlon at my local CVS, one of them with new lip products. They look just like the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains, which I like a lot {comment if you want a review on those.} So I decided to give this a try. But I found out recently that these are a completely different product. And now I'll be reviewing it for you guys~!
The packaging is exactly like the Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains from Revlon and the Clinique Chubby Sticks. The product is twist up lip crayon just like the other two as well. Like the Revlon Balm Stains, this also has a minty smell, which I think is great. But if you don't like minty smelling things, try something else.
There were multiple shades to choose from in the line, but this nude pink looking one called, Elusive, caught my eye.
Here's a swatch of it~!
However I was disappointed that the color wasn't a nude pink, like I expected it to be. It's a bubblegum pink, which I don't mind, but it's not what I thought it would be. It has a neutral under tone, making it wearable on a ton of different skin tones.
If you want to wear this for a whole day, make sure to apply a moisturizing lip balm underneath it. That way the application will be much smoother and if you have chapped lips, like me, it won't show up.
Overall I don't hate this product, but it isn't my new favorite either. The packaging is very typical and already used by so many other companies. It's well pigmented, like the Kissable Balm Stains from Revlon, but I don't like how the formula isn't that moisturizing, which is how I prefer anything with a matte finish to be. I wish I didn't pay $9 for this, cause to me it just wasn't worth it. The color wasn't like the one shown, which pissed me off a ton.
If you do try this product, tell me in the comments how it worked for you. I'd like to know if it was just mine that is crappy. See you guys at my next post xo
Here's the review I promised from my latest haul, {click her if you haven't check it out yet,} for this strange nail polish. It's from the Polka Dots nail polish line from Maybelline. There are a few other colors besides this one, but this was my favorite.
The packaging is very typical for nail polish, so there isn't much for me to say about it.
I applied one coat of the polish and it looked like this. . .
It's kind of sheer in the color, but there is a ton of glitter.
Here's a second coat. . .
The color is much more pigmented after the second coat, and I really like it. It reminds me of the Revlon scented nail polish in Mint Gelato. But by adding another coat, some of the glitter was dulled out. The black glitter was more grey looking and the white glitter was a light mint color.
Overall I think this polish is alright. Close up it looks kind of strange, but it's really cool to look at. It did chip easily after wearing it for two days, even though I had a top coat on over it.
I know this wasn't a too in depth review, but I wasn't quite sure what else to say. If you have any questions about this polish, ask me it in the comments down below. See you guys at my next post xo
Am I the only one who feels like October went by really quickly?
Sorry I haven't posted this soon. Blogger deleted the entire post before I could post it ;_;
Anyways today I have my monthly favorite for the month of October. I haven't tried too many new things this month, but I do have some new favorites this month. Also I have some non beauty favorites this month (anime, music, video games.)
So let's start ~!
Makeup
My B.B. Cream love has continued this month. I've reviewed both the L'Oreal B.B. Cream {click here to read it} and the Skin79 B.B. Cream {click here to read it} one on my blog. If you guys want I can write a post comparing the two. Comment if you want to see that.
I'm sure I showed this in a recent haul, but ever since I got it, I've used it ever day. It's the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Nude Pink. It's a smooth cream eyeshadow that looks super natural. It lasts a long time on my lids and is a great base for any eye look.
I haven't talked about this product in a post before, but I got it at the beginning of the month and I love it. It's the Korres Lip Butter in Pomegranate. It's gives my lips a sheer pink tint and it's super moisturizing. And with its light formula I barely even notice it.
Nail Polish
For nail polish this month, I had two that I wore for a long time. They are Sally Hansen's Beautiful Berry and Confetti's Debutante. Beautiful Berry, as the name implies, is a red berry color. What I really liked is that this polish is super pigmented. I just have to apply one coat and it looked great.
Confetti has been a hit or miss brand for me. But this polish has been great. It's a shimmery gold color, but I applied 3 coats to get it opaque. Both have pretty good formulation and lasted about a week with a cheap top coat over them.
Clothes/Accessories
I don't have a clothing favorite, but I do have a shoes favorite. They're my taupe Guess combat boots. These boots have been my life this month, since I wear them just about every single day. They're super comfortable and look great with everything.
Video Games
Pokemon X and Y came out this month and I got it right when it came out. It's been the only video game I've played this month and if you haven't tried it out yet, go buy it now. The graphics are amazing and the new Pokemon, especially Sylveon, are awesome. Another part of the game I like is that I finally am able to customize my character. The clothes are great and there's a decent variety of options to buy. I haven't beaten the main story yet, cause I'm trying to savor it as long as I can.
Music
I have a new favorite K-POP song and it's Fantastic Baby by Big Bang. The video is pretty weird, but I love the song.
Anime
I haven't finished any anime this month, but I have been watching Soul Eater. I like it so far. Some of the characters are kind of annoying, in my opinion, but besides that I like the plot and the premise. If you've never heard of Soul Eater, basically it takes place in a world where kids are taught to fight demons and witches. I've always ben into the supernatral genre, so I've been really enjoying this anime.
So those were my late monthly favorites. Comment tell me your favorites from this month. See you guys at my next post xo
