So I'm always last minute when it comes to Halloween costumes. I usually throw something together the night before or the night of Halloween. Or I just do weird makeup. But today I'll be giving you guys two last minute costumes using stuff you probably already have or can get at a thrift store. Let's start~!
Animal
Dress - Sylvia Whyte II
Tights - Target
Hat - Amazon
Shoes - Anne Klein
If you have any hats with animal
ears, you have an instant costume. Here I have a fuzzy black hat with
cat ears that I'm wearing with this cheetah print dress, black tights, and some black
ballet flats. If you don't have an animal hat, you can make animal
ears out of felt and attach them to a headband. There are tons of
tutorials on the internet that'll show you how to do it.
Pirate
My parrot looks like it's trying to eat my hair >w<
Bandana - Thrift store
Shirt - TJ maxx
Jeans - TJ maxx
Boots - Guess
Parrot - Beanie Baby
All you need is a red bandana, a black and white striped shirt, jeans and some boots. If you want to girl up this costume, wear a black and white striped dress if you have one. Also if you want add an eye patch and your parrot companion. I don't have an eye patch though ;_;
So those are my last minute costume ideas. I hope you guys like these and comment telling me if you tried any of these out. See you guys at my next post xo
I have a haul for you guys today. I haven't done one in a while, so I felt like this one was necessary. I went to Target, CVS, and Bath and Body Works recently, so I show you guys what I got there.
I'll start with Target. . .
I got another pack of my favorite makeup removing wipes, Yesto Cucumbers. I love these and I wrote a review on them a while ago. If you want to read it, {click here.} They had a pack of 40 wipes, which was awesome cause usually I get the 30 or 25 pack.
Another repurchase was the Vaseline Spray and Go Moisturizer in Aloe Fresh. I remember first hearing about this over the summer and it's my favorite body moisturizer. It's great cause your hands don't get greasy when you apply it, since it sprays on. There are other scents, but I like the aloe the best.
I'm almost out of my body wash, so I picked up a new one. This is the Olay Cleansing Body Wash in Silky Berry. This smells amazing, it's fruity and sweet.I haven't used it yet, so I don't know how long the scent lasts, but I hope it lasts a while.
Lastly I got another one of my favorite hair products. This is the Loreal Total Repair 5 Damage Erasing Balm. It's a great hair mask if you have dry/damaged hair and I use it once a week to help my hair.
Moving on, now I have some stuff from CVS. . .
I am a nail polish hoarder, I admit it. But these two polishes I got caught my eye. This first one is by Maybelline and it's the Color Show Polka Dots Polish in the color #55 Drops of Jade. It has pieces of black and white glitter in multiple sizes that from far away look like dots. There are other colors, but I liked this one the best.
The other polish I got was the Covergirl Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss in the color Timesless Rubies. It's a red polish with flecks of gold and scarlet. It reminds me of the Barry M nail polish in Copper, but less golden. This is my first Covergirl nail polish, so I'm excited to try it out.
I saw some new makeup displays at CVS and one was for Maybelline. They had new blushes, lip sticks, and new color tattoos. I love the Maybelline color tattoos, so I got this one and it's in the color #250 Nude Pink and it's a neutral shell pink. I think this will be a great addition to my collection because the other color tattoos I have are from the metals collection, which are all shimmery.
Lastly we have Bath and Body Works. . .
I was planning to buy candles, but being the idiot I am I forgot all my money at home, except for five dollars. I saw a new display in the middle of the store for one of their newest scents, Forever Midnight. If you haven't smelled this, you need so a.s.a.p. It smells flowery and sophisticated, so I'd personally only wear it for special occasions. They haven't released the full sized one yet, so I got this.
That's everything from my haul. Comment if you want a review on any of the products shown, I'm planning to review the Polka Dot nail polish. See you guys at my next post xo
Hey Guys~! Today I'll be showing you how to create this vampire makeup. It's super easy and great for Halloween, so let's start~!
Here's what I used for products. . . Skin79 Super+ B.B. Cream White Face Makeup (forgot to put it in the picture) Rimmel Stay Matte Powder Milani Brow Fix Brow Kit ELF Eyelid Primer Urban Decay Naked Palette Stila Smudge Stick Liner ELF Waterproof Eyeliner Pen Maybelline The Rocket Mascara Maybelline Super Stay 10 Hour Stain Gloss
First I mixed some B.B. Cream with some white cream makeup. This will add a sickly kind of look to your skin and lighten your complexion. Don't add too much white, we want the color just to be lighter than your natural skin tone. If you don't have white cream makeup, apply a foundation that is a shade or two lighter than your skin tone. Also apply the mix over your lips as a base for the lip stain we'll be apply later. I skipped concealer since this hungry vampire can't sleep, but if you need extra coverage build the B.B. Cream and white makeup mixture and use it on any imperfections except for your dark circles. Set everything with a translucent powder and it should look something like this. . .
I look miserable in this picture -.-"
Next I'm filling in my brows. I'm emphasizing the angle and darkening my brows using a mixture of two different brow powders. I forgot to set my brows with a clear brow gel, but if you have one, set your brows so they stay in place.
Using my eyelid primer, I just primed my eyes which will help my eye shadow last longer, prevent creasing, and make the colors brighter. Then I used the eye shadow 'Toasted', a metallic rusty rose, from my Naked Palette. I applied it all of the lid with my finger. In the crease I used the color 'Hustle', a berry toned brown, and blended it focusing the color on the outer crease and blending towards the inner eye corner. To darken the look, I used the shadow 'Creep', a shimmery black, on the outer V and blended it in. With a small angled brush I lined my lower lash line using the color 'Hustle' to create a smokey eye affect. Lastly I used the color 'Virgin', a pale pink, as a highlight on the inner eye corner and on the brow bone.
With a dark grey, almost black, eyeliner line both your tight line and water line to make your eyes seem piercing. This part is optional: line the upper lash line with a liquid liner to add more definition to your eyes. Curl your lashes and apply a volumizing mascara to your upper and lower lashes.
For the lips, apply a pink lip stain to the center of your lips. Concentrate the color there so you seem parched. If you have dry lips, like me, don't apply lip balm or anything cause the dryness will add to the affect. If you have fake blood, which sadly I don't, apply it around the corners of your mouth, dripping down your chin. And that's it, we're done~!
I hope you guys enjoyed this haunting vampire look. I know I probably could've made this tutorial better and clearer by making a video, but my video camera isn't working (╯︵╰,) Comment if you have any ideas for future makeup tutorials. See you guys soon xo
Hey Guys~! I actually got this a while ago, but now I'm going to review it for you guys. This is one of the Benefit kits for the boxed powder, Coralista. This was my first Benefit purchase and I have a lot to say about this.
Of course I love the packaging, Benefit always has amazing packaging from their products. This kit contains a mini Cha Cha Tint, mini High Beam, mini Coralista
blush with a brush, and a mini Coralista lip gloss. Also it has a little booklet showing the application techniques for all the products.
Okay so I'm going to start with the blush. Coralista is a beautiful peachy-coral blush with gold flecks. It would look great on many different skin tones and is wearable for everyday if applied sparingly. The little brush that the kit comes with to apply it is a great size for travel. It's somewhat dense and super soft to the touch. It applies the blush nicely, but I'd blend it out with a fluffy brush afterwards.
The lip gloss is one of my favorite things in the kit. I hate most lip glosses cause they either are glittery, sticky, or have no pigmentation. This one however is amazing. It has more of a warm undertone compared to the blush which is neutral, so test it out before purchasing it so you know if it looks good on you or not.
I'd always wanted to try one of Benefit's tints, so I was happy to see Cha Cha Tint was also in the kit. It has a pinky orange color (it came out more orange than it really is on camera.) It's supposed to be a lip and cheek stain and I've been able to successfully use it as a lip stain. I've never gotten it to work as a cheek stain without it looking bad. It's never blended nicely on my skin and I've tried many ways to apply it.
The last product in the kit is Benefit's High Beam. It's a pink undertone highlighter, so it would be best for people with a cool or neutral undertone. I like how it looks on my face initially, but as the day goes on, I noticed it become insanely glittery. I hate having glitter on my face, so I was disappointing by this since it looks great right after I apply it.
I got this
so I could try a bunch of Benefit products instead of just getting the
Coralista box powder. Now I wish I just bought the blush, even though I did like the lip gloss. I didn't care for the highlighter or lip/cheek stain and I don't recommended them. I've tried Watts Up by Benefit and it's a million times better. Packaging: ♥♥♥♥♥ Benefit, as usual, has adorable packaging and this kit is no exception. However the box itself isn't super durable.
Coralista Blush: ♥♥♥♥♥ It's one of my favorite blushes now and I love wearing it. Coralista Lip Gloss: ♥♥♥♥♥ It's the one lip gloss I actually like since I hate sticky lip glosses. Cha Cha Tint: ♥♥♥♥♥ Waste of space in the kit. It would've been better to put in a mini primer or something that actually works.I only like using it on my lips.
High Beam: ♥♥♥♥♥ Worst thing I've ever tried from Benefit. Price: ♥♥♥♥♥ The price is reasonable for a high end beauty kit, but when two out of four products don't work for me, it isn't worth it. Overall: ♥♥♥♥♥ I wish I just bought the blush in the first place. So that was my review on the Benefit Go TropiCoral kit. In the comments tell me about any beauty products that haven't worked for you. Hope to see you guys at my next post xo
It's October so that means my favorite holiday is coming up soon, HALLOWEEN?!?!?! I've always loved dressing up and this month I'll doing both DIY costumes and themed nail art all this month. Today I'll be starting with this cute haunted house nail art design. This can be done on both long and short nails and looks really cool.
What you'll need is. . .
Purple Nail Polish
Black Nail Polish
White Nail Polish
Yellow Nail Polish
Base Coat
Top Coat
Nail Art Brush
So gather that all up and let's get started~!
First apply a base coat to your nails and then apply two coats of a purple nail polish. Don't use one that is too dark because then the black will put on later on will blend into the purple. To get an opaque color, apply 2-3 thin coats and let it dry.
The using black nail polish and a nail art brush, paint an arrow shape on your thumb and ring finger nail. Then do a french tip to ground the arrow. Apply multiple coats of the black so it's opaque. The make a small white rectangle on each of the arrows. Using the black nail polish, touch up any edges of the rectangle.
With the nail art brush, apply the yellow nail polish into the white square. Then using black nail polish paint a cross over the yellow to make the window.
Make a white rectangle under the window and once it's dry paint it yellow to make the door. Seal in the design with a clear top coat and you're done~!
I hope you guys enjoyed this haunting nail art. If you have any ideas for DIY costumes or nail art, comment down below and I'll credit you if I use your idea. See you at my next post xo
Happy first day of October. Today is the time of the month were I tell you guys my favorite products from this past month. But instead of just showing you makeup and other beauty products, I'll be sharing some non beauty favorites with you guys too. So let's get into it~!
Makeup
I have no new face makeup favorites, so I'm going straight to eye products. I got this Clinique eye shadow quad for free in a gift bag from Bloomingdales. The quad comes with a matte cream called French Vanilla, a satin finished taupe and dark brown from the Clinique duo Double Date, and a matte black called Midnight. All of the shadows are well pigmented and these shadows are great for everyday use.
My love of tight lining has continued and I still use the same liner. This is the Rimmel Scadaleyes liner in the color #5 Taupe. I talked about this in my August Favorites too, so read that post if you want to know more about this amazing liner.
I've gotten really bad chapped lips this month, so I've been trying a lot of healing lip balms. The best one was the Blistex Five Star Lip Protection. It has SPF 30 and is great if you get really dry lips. If you apply this onto chapped lips, it does hurt a bit and it does give a white cast to my lips, so if you try this use it a night or apply a lipstick over it if you plan to wear it during the day.
Nail Polish
I have been lazy with painting my nails this month. I had my imPRESS nails on for two weeks, so for two weeks this month I actually used nail polish. A color that I wore that I think is beautiful is by Wet and Wild and the color is called, I Need a Refreshmint. I love the name for this polish and I have a mint obsession, so once my friend showed me this polish I fell in love. This isn't super long wearing, so I did have to touch it up when I wore it, but besides that it's a beautiful color.
Skin/Hair Care
My skin care routine hasn't changed at all, except for the addition of this sheet mask from the company My Scheming. It's an anti acne sheet mask, which I already did a review on {click here to see it.} It's really helped clear me skin and I love it.
I have thin hair, so I need to strengthen it. My hair dresser recommended that I use a treatment with Argan Oil and if you don't know what that is, it's an oil that nourished the hair and helps with dry skin. So I purchased the Suave Professionals Moroccan Infusion Styling Oil. This contains both Argan and Moroccan oil, another beneficially oil for the hair. I've been using this to control my friz and it works great on my hair.
Music
Yes, I'm gonna talk about my taste in music this favorites post. I do have a unique music taste for a teenager. This month I've been loving the song Every Night by the K-Pop band EXID. My friends got me into K-Pop a few months ago, but this has always been one of my favorite songs. I know the video is kind of weird, but the song is what I like.
An English song I've been playing obsessively this month is Mirrors by Justin Timberlake. I just really like it and I haven't gotten sick of it yet, which is something that happens when I overplay a song.
Anime, TV Shows, and Movies
I have been finding time in my crazy life to watch some anime and a few episodes of some of my favorite TV shows. This month I watched Brother's Conflict,
a romantic comedy, and Dangan Ronpa,
it's similar to the Hunger Games/ Battle Royal. Both were recommended by my friend. I liked both of them a lot.
At the end of the month, my favorite TV shows began their new seasons, 2 Broke Girls
and The Big Bang Theory.
Both are on CBS and they're hilarious.
I haven't seen any amazing movies this month, sadly. But I'm super excited for Catching Fire which comes out in November.
So those were my monthly favorites. Comment with your favorites from this month down below. If you have any ideas for future posts you want to read, I'd like to hear them. See you all at my next post xo
