For a lot of things in life, school ID, driver's licences, passports, etc, we need pictures taken. Today I'll be sharing some makeup and fashion tips to help you take the best picture possible. There won't be anything here about angles or lighting, because sometimes you have to take pictures head on. So let's start~~!
Makeup Tip #1: Don't Use Any Foundation or Powder with SPF 20 or Higher
This will cause your face to appear lighter than the rest of your body. It will look like your face doesn't belong to your body, and if you're pale like me you will look like a ghost. Instead, use something with either no SPF or low SPF, that way your face won't reflect light and look too light.
Makeup Tip #2: Don't Cover Your Face in Makeup
This may be tempting, especially if you have problematic skin. But photographers usually can/will touch up your photographs. Also you don't want your face to look powdery or to look overdone in general. Use makeup to enhance your beauty, not to hide it.
Makeup Tip #3: If You Have Never Worn Makeup, Watch a Few Tutorials to Learn Basic Looks and Techniques
Shameless plug for my YouTube Channel, I have a few makeup tutorials posted there, so {click here} to watch them. Find someone whose makeup you like, have similar skin tone {this will help you find what products and colors look best on you}, or if you have time before your photograph just experiment with makeup. If you have a friend who wears makeup, as them to help you create a simple look.
Fashion Tip #1: Don't Blend Into Your Background
If you have a choice or know what color the background of your photograph will be, don't wear that same color. For my school ID, the background is usually grey, so I wear colors that pop, like mint green or raspberry pink.
Fashion Tip #2: Get Someone Else's Opinion on Your Outfit
You may like what you have selected, but it's always good to get a second opinion. I'll either ask my friends or parents, because they might have a better idea that I do. Or if you have no clue what to wear, get someone to help you.
I hope you all enjoyed today's post~! Share your tips and tricks for taking photos in the comments below. I have my picture day next week, so wish me luck. Thank you guys so much for reading and I'll see you at my next post.

Really good tips! :) I tend not to put much make up on anyways (just a bit of concealer, lipgloss and mascara), but what I do when I'm having my picture taken is to just put more mascara on than usual. It really shows on the photo :) xx
