Too Faced Pardon My French Set Review~!

Hey Guys~!

A few months ago I got the Too Faced 2014 Summer Gift set. I hadn't heard much about it online, so I really bought it on a whim. I thought I'd get it cause it has some unique colors. Also I'd never tried anything from the brand before so I thought it would be a great experience. So let's start~~!

First off, I love the packaging. It comes in this cute little makeup bag. The striped part is made of a canvas-like material and the pink is a faux leather. I love the color scheme, it's just so pretty and summery.

In this kit is an eye shadow palette, a mascara, an eyeliner, and an eyeshadow primer. The palette has a similar color scheme to the bag, which I thought was nice. Also it's pretty compact, so it's great for travel. However just from looking at this, I see a problem. The sample eyeshadow primer is super tiny, it has only 0.11 oz of product. I've heard a lot about the Too Faced Shadow Insurance, but I did want to test it for myself and there's barely anything to try.

Let's move onto the actually palette. It has the same set up as many other Too Faced palettes. In it there are three different "looks", Day, Classic, and Fashion. Each look comes with three different eyeshadows, but if you're like me you will mix them around.

~ Here are swatches of all the colors ~

Seashell - Matte Warm Toned Pink
Sand Dollar - Matte Cream
Sunbeam - Pale Yellow with Gold Sparkles

Plumeria - Bright Magenta
Firefly - Metallic Copper
Mermaid - Shimmery Green Teal

Cocoa Beach - Mid Toned Brown with Gold Shimmer
Chocolate Sun - Dark Brown with Gold Shimmer
Toasted Coconut - Matte Brown

I have some hits and misses color wise in this palette. I love Firefly, Mermaid, Seashell, Sand Dollar, and Toasted Coconut. However I find Cocoa Beach and Chocolate Sun too similar and would have preferred maybe a matte light brown or something else.  Plumeria is pretty, but it I do find it bold for a supposed "Day" look. The only color I hate is Sunbeam. Because it's so light, all I see when I blend it out is gold shimmer and I don't know what to do with it.

Let's move onto the other products in the kit~~!

The eyeliner they give you is the Too Faced Perfect Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner. I love this eyeliner~! It's super creamy and pigmented. For a pencil, it glides on perfectly and looks really nice. I do think having a black eyeliner in this kit was a good choice cause it would look great along side all these bright colors.

The mascara is great. It makes my lashes look nice and voluminous. However I do prefer waterproof mascara, so I probably won't use this too often. Also I did notice that the wand is kind of big, and I don't like large mascara wands because it causes my lashes to clump together.

I haven't tried the primmer, mainly cause I thought the sample was really tiny. I plan to save it for if I travel, but I also already have an eye primmer I like.

I'm not really sure if this kit was really worth the $49 I paid for it. Regular Too Faced Palettes cost $36 and the eyeliner costs $18. Yes, those two things together are a $54 value, but I have other eyeliners that I like even more than this one, and they cost significantly less. The palette was the only reason I bought this, and I feel like everything else was kind of a waste.

I think this palette/kit is okay. The eyeshadows are really unique colors and I do enjoy incorporating them into different looks. Two of them aren't the best, but the other really make the palette worth it. The eyeliner is nice quality, but I've tried equally as good, if not better, eyeliners from the drugstore. The other products in this kit are mediocre in quality and size.  If you can get this kit still, get it for the palette, and maybe give away the other parts.

I hope you guys enjoyed this review. Sorry that I haven't updated you guys lately, a lot has been going on in my life. If you want a makeup tutorial using this palette, let me know in the comments below. Thank you guys so much for reading and I'll see you at my next post.
