Top 10 Favorite Female Anime Characters {Collaboration with Minae}~!

Hey Guys~!

I am super excited for this post, because it is an awesome collaboration series I'm doing with Minae from Minae's Magical Nation. She's super sweet and I'm just in love with her blog. Twice a month will be posting anime themed entrees, and for our first one we decided on sharing our Top 10 Favorite Female Anime Characters. Today you'll experience me at my rawest fangirl state, since I love all of the characters I'm about to talk about so much, and hopefully you enjoy it. Also there will be some spoilers. So let's start~~!

10.)  Alice from Pandora Hearts

Pandora Hearts is one of my favorite anime, because it has connections to Alice and Wonderland. I am in love with Alice because of her really unique backstory, which I am about to spoil. Alice has a twin sister who is in the Abyss, another dimension, who sometimes possesses her, without anyone knowing. This leads to people taking advantage of her, by teaming up with her sister, so Alice kills herself to prevent her sister from possessing her. Alice is reborn and that Alice is the one seen in the anime and the beginning of the manga. She is stubborn, but really caring. She's super protective of Oz, especially when Oz's friend Gil is around, and those scenes are hilarious to watch. I am catching up on the manga, which I think ended recently, and Alice is just amazing in it.

9.) Mina Tepes from Dance in the Vampire Bund

Dance is the Vampire Bund isn't a super well known anime, but it is one of the best vampire anime I've ever seen. I'm in love with the main character, Mina Tepes, the daughter of Dracula. That may sound super cliche, and now you may think Mina is just like your average Twilight vampire, but she is nothing even comparable to them. She has a two sided personality, if she's on your side she is calm and sympathetic. However if you're not on her side, she is ferocious and will do anything to get what she wants. Her backstory is amazing, it has to do with why she looks like a child even though she's over 400 years old, and it has a lot to do with the plot of the anime, so I won't spoil it in case you choose to check it out. I am planning on reading the manga, because I want to see how the plot continues after the anime.

8.) Touko Fukawa from Dangan Ronpa

I know not everyone liked the Dangan Ronpa anime, but I saw the anime first and then played the game, and I still love it. This should have been obvious, since I do cosplay Touko Fukawa. She is an author who along with the other students is trapped in a battle royale inside their high school. She's socially awkward, and she has an insane crush on Byakuya Togami, it's super one sided. Fukawa isn't just that, again spoilers, but she has multiple personality disorder, and her other personality is a serial killer, Genocider Syo. Even though, Syo's personality is literally the exact opposite of Fukawa's they both want Togami, which is the only thing they have in common. They are both really entertaining characters in both the anime and the video game to watch, and I'm excited to see the English dub of the anime.

7.) Makoto from Kanon 2006

First off, Makoto is just so cute. Initially she's super feisty, but soon calms down in nature as she grows closer to the main character, Yuichi, and his family. Kanon is one of two anime I've ever legitimately cried while watching, and Makoto is the reason for it. Spoilers, Makoto is actually a fox that Yuichi took care of as a kid. Makoto wanted so badly to see Yuichi again, that she gave up her memories in order to become human. However in becoming human, Makoto is slowly dying. It is the most heartbreaking few episodes to watch, because she's just growing weaker and loses the ability to speak. Even though she has the saddest end, she is the most lively character, and she is super hilarious in other scenes in the anime.

6.) Suiseiseki from Rozen Maiden

I have talked about Rozen Maiden in other posts on my blog, so of course I have at least one of the dolls on this list. Suiseiseki is my favorite out of the seven dolls. She's introduced as the shyest of the dolls and is distrustful of humans. But once she trusts Jun, she becomes super mischievous and she often teases Jun or Hina Ichigo. She does care a lot for the other dolls, especially her twin, Souseiseki, and is is very protective of them whenever danger is present. Her character really has developed over the three seasons of this anime, and I'm hoping for a fourth to see where her character goes.

5.) Shinoa from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign

I recently started this anime after hearing about it online, and I am already in love with it, especially Shinoa. First of all, she's just so cute~!! I love her design, and she has a giant scythe, which makes her super bad ass. Her personality doesn't fit her cute design, she's super smug in showing how she's superior, title and power wise, to the main character, Yuichiro. I am really excited to see how she continues to develop as I continue watching the anime and when the second half of it comes out in the fall. Also I'm already planning on cosplaying her.

4.) Shino/Sinon from Gun Gale Online

I talked about my love of the Gun Gale Online arc on previous blog posts and the reason why I love it is because of Shino/Sinon. Her backstory, how it affects her, and how she tries to recover was something I really connected to. Not many characters in anime realistically depict anxiety, in my opinion, but I think this anime really handled Shino/Sinon's fear of guns amazingly. The scene in the beginning when another girl torments Shino/Sinon by making a finger gun is so well done. Overall Shino/Sinon's character is so realistically done that I really felt for her in the more emotional scenes.

3.)  Yukiko from 11eyes

11eyes is an anime that really deserves a larger fan base. It is really unique and very well done in terms of plot and characters. I love a lot of the characters, but my favorite has to be Yukiko. She seems really innocent and cheerful, but if she takes off her glasses she becomes a cold hearted killing machine. I just realized that she is similar to Touko Fukawa from Dangan Ronpa . . . Are killers with glasses my type~? Anyway Yukiko really does develop from a basic and common seeming character to an emotionally driven character because of her relationship with Takahisa. I really want to play the game this anime is based on, since I heard she is more of a main character then.

2.) Taiga Aisaka from ToraDora

In one of my 30 Day Anime Challenge posts I said I felt the most like Taiga Aisaka from ToraDora. It may sound self absorbed then that I like her so much, but there is good reason for her being so high on this list. Out of all the romance anime I've seen, she is my favorite female love interest ever. In many romance anime, in my opinion, the plots are very cliche, often with the love interests getting really close to getting together and then a misunderstanding leads to them separating and then they get together in the end.  ToraDora doesn't do that and that's one of the reasons why I love Taiga. She's not the typical love interest because the anime doesn't treat her as a romance driven character, like I see in a lot of anime. She's a very comedic character who has her moments where she's super emotional or romantic. That's what I really like about her, that she's a love interest but not just a love interest. She goes through a lot of character development, and in the anime you really see all the sides to her personality. In my opinion she's the most fleshed out love interest I've seen in an anime. Also I just like that we are the same height, look the same, and her voice actor and I have the same birthday.

1.) Juvia Lockser from Fairy Tail

If you have been reading my blog, you probably we expecting Juvia to appear somewhere on this list. Yes, my favorite female anime character is Juvia Lockser from Fairy Tail. Initially I wasn't a huge fan of Fairy Tail, and on numerous occasions I tried to watch it. I liked it, but there weren't any characters I really enjoyed. That was until the Phantom Lord arc where Juvia was introduced as a villain.  Initially Juvia is emotionless and isolated, even from the other members in Phantom Lord. She was always followed by the rain, which made no one want to be with her, which caused her to have a lack of trust in people and to be depressed. However, upon fighting Gray, she learns to be a very hopeful and optimistic character and she joins Fairy Tail so she can be with him. She's madly in love with Gray and is extremely protective of him. Whenever anyone threatens him, she turns somewhat sadistic and becomes more possessive over Gray. At the same time she is one of the funniest characters to watch. I love all her scenes where she does something to make Gray love her and it just doesn't work out. Juvia's fantasies about her and Gray are hilarious. Also I've been reading the manga, which I won't spoil because I do want people to read it, recently Juvia has gone through a lot and she at the same time manages to light up the mood. Thinking about it, that's probably why I love Juvia so much, because she is always hopeful. Being a pessimist and an anime lover, seeing a character that resonates with me have a transformation in their outlook, to a more positive one, is inspiring. Now you might think it's stupid for me to feel inspired to think more positively by an anime character, or in more general terms, a fictional character, but I personally don't have a "real" role model. Yes, there are people I look up to, but none of whom really changed how I feel as a person. Juvia somehow was able to do that for me and it amazes me that an anime character could do that for me. Wow this just got really philosophical and I don't know what to do . . .  I cosplayed her at Anime Boston this year and it was the happiest experience of my life. Being able to portray what made me a happier person to everyone else, made me feel the happiest I've ever felt in my life. Also she's just so cute, and she's made me want blue hair <33

Those were my top ten female anime characters and I hope you guys enjoyed it~! Check out Minae's post on her blog to see her top ten and in the comments let me know who your favorite female anime character are. Also leave suggestions for future anime themed topics that Minae and I can talk about in our collaboration series. Thank you guys so much for reading and I'll see you at my next post.

Maybelline Brow Precise Pencil Review~!

Hey Guys~!

After I posted my empties products, I decided instead of getting another Anastasia Brow Wiz that I would try a new eyebrow pencil. I haven't found an eyebrow pencil that I like from the drugstore, but I decided to try and find something that I like. Today I'll be reviewing this eyebrow pencil from Maybelline. So let's start~~!

I don't really now how to review the packaging of a pencil, because it's just a pencil. I do like that there is a spooly brush on the end, like on the Anastasia pencil, because I use that brush to comb my brows into place before filling them in.

On the Maybelline website, they offer four shades, Blonde, Soft Brown, Deep Brown, and Auburn. It is good that there are multiple shades, but when buying my pencil, I really wasn't sure which one to get, because Soft Brown looked too light and Deep Brown looked too Dark. Why isn't there a medium brown~?

The shade I chose is Soft Brown, because I just hoped it would match. Here's a swatch of it . . .

I would call this more of a medium brown. But I do like how the texture is slightly creamy. However, when I do apply it on my brows, it looks greasy. Then if I blend it out with the spoily brush, the product comes off. I brush my brows super lightly, and it always does this. So I need to reapply it after doing so once, which is really annoying.

For the heck of it, I decided to swatch the Anastasia pencil next to the Maybelline one. Here's the swatch . . .

The colors are different. The Anastasia one is more a warm toned brown and the Maybelline one is darker and cool toned.

The price is pretty decent, especially compared to my Anastasia pencil. It was around $8, which is good for the quality of the product. Also I could buy two of these, for the price of my Anastasia pencil.

Packaging: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Color Range: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♡ ♡
Texture:  ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Formulation:  ♥ ♥ ♥ ♡ ♡
Pigmentation:  ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Price:  ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Overall:  ♥ ♥ ♡ ♡ ♡

I do like this pencil, which surprised me a lot. I have tried another Maybelline brow pencil in the past, which I didn't like for different reasons. My only issue with this is how it applies and the sturggle I go through to apply it. I'd much rather get my Anastasia Brow Wiz then use this.

I hope you guys enjoyed this review. Let me know in the comments what some of your favorite brow products are, I love getting product recommendations from you guys. Thank you guys so much for reading and I'll see you at my next post.

30 Day Anime Challenge {Day #11 Favorite Mecha Anime}~!

Hey Guys~!

Today's installment of our challenge involves me looking into another genre of anime that I don't watch a lot of, Mecha. If you don't know what that means, it's anime robots fighting. I am not into action anime, so I found it hard to answer this. But I stumbled upon this anime, and I am in love with it. So let's start~~!

My favorite Mecha Anime is . . . Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagan~!

To summarize it, it starts with an underground village, with Simon, who while digging finds a strange key. Kamina, another person from Simon's village, dreams of going to the surface. One day a strange robot crashes into their village and a girl, Yoko, comes to defeat it. Simon and Kamina help her win and they leave with her to the surface.

Okay, why do I like this? Honestly I love Yoko as a character. Many people know Yoko because of her body. She is a popular character for her fan service, which has led to Yoko also becoming a popular cosplay.

I enjoy her because of the development her character goes through. I'm not going to spoil everything, but someone important to Yoko dies right after she admits her feelings for them. Seeing her character hide her emotions is honestly heartbreaking because she's such a positive and strong character.

I'm sorry that I didn't write too much for this. As I said, I don't watch a lot of mecha anime, so I didn't really know what to talk about. Anyways I hope you all enjoyed this post. If you have seen a mecha anime that you liked, share it in the comments below. Thank you guys so much for reading and I'll see you at my next post.

Favorite Summer Lipsticks~!

Hey Guys~!

This summer I plan to experiment more with my makeup, which of course includes crazy lip colors too. Today I'll be sharing some of my favorite bold or unique lip products that I have been loving so far. If you want a full review on any of these, let me know in the comments below. So let's start~~!

Revlon Lip Butter in Sorbet
This is a lipstick I've owned for a while and recently I've been wearing it a ton. It's a bright cool toned fuchsia color, and it feels super smooth on the lips. When I don't want it to look too bold, I dab some of the product on my finger and apply it to my lips.

Etude House Cherry Tint in Lavender
This may look really intimidating, but it's actually super wearable. I naturally have really reddish pink lips, so on me, this color looks like a berry color. It is a stain, so it lasts super long on the lips without touching it up a ton.

TonyMoly Petite Bunny Gloss Bar in Juicy Orange
I don't really like orange lips on me, but this one is sheer so it doesn't look too orange. On me it looks like a warm toned coral, and it's super shiny. It looks like I applied lip gloss over it when I wear it, so sometimes I blot it for a little less shine.

Rimmel Show Off Lip Lacquer in Big Bang
I have never liked red lips on myself, but this one is changing that for me. Honestly, I got this for the name because it reminded me of the K-Pop group, but it's a nice neutral toned red. You have to blot this or else you will get the color on your teeth.

Maybelline Baby Lips in Very Berry
As the name implies, this is another berry color. For a Baby Lips, this one is super pigmented, almost as pigmented as a lipstick. Because of that, I like to wear a clear gloss or balm over this so it sheers out on my lips like other Baby Lips Lip Balms.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post~! In the comments, let me know which of these lip colors was your favorite, I love hearing you guys's opinions. Thank you guys so much for reading and I'll see you at my next post.

30 Day Anime Challange {Day #10 Favorite Fighter Anime}~!

Hey Guys~!

If there is one genre of anime I don't really watch, it is fighting anime. However, Day #10 requires me to choose one, which involved me watching some fighting anime. I didn't want to put Fairy Tail here, since I have talked about it a lot. And I do have something else that I can share. So let's start~~!

Okay, this is kind of specific, but I really have to give this credit for being one of the best arcs I've seen in terms of animation and characters introduced. My favorite fighting anime is the Gun Gale Online arc from the anime Sword Art Online.

Now I'm not a huge fan of the first season of Sword Art Online, so when the second season began, I was hesitant to watch it. However, I was pleasantly impressed with the animation. The environment of the Gun Gale Online world was stunning.

The first season of Sword Art Online had beautiful environments, but it was a fantasy anime. Gun Gale Online has a cyber steam punk style, which is completely different than the original game. However, it was pulled off beautifully.

Okay, onto the character that they introduced in this arc that made me fall in love, Shino/Sinon. Shino is a girl, who after a violent accident in her childhood, has a strong fear of guns. Even if someone makes a finger gun, she begins panicking.

Her friend introduces her to the game Gun Gale Online, and she becomes Sinon, a sniper. Shino hopes that by playing this game, she'll get over hear anxiety. I found Shino to be a really well written, well designed, and relate-able character.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post~! I know I could have talked more about the action scenes, but I really don't pay attention to that when watching an anime. Share your favorite fighting anime in the comments below. Thank you guys so much for reading and I'll see you at my next post.

June Favorites 2015~!

Hey Guys~!

I am finally done with school~!! There were so many snow days that my last day was June 26th instead of June 20th. Now that I am finally on summer break I have more free time to take your requests for future tutorials and reviews, so leave your suggestions in the comments of this post. So let's start~~!

●☆● ☆● ☆● ☆● Makeup ●☆● ☆● ☆● ☆●

Rimmel Stay Matte Mouse Foundation in Light Porcelain: I reviewed this a long time ago, and recently I've been mixing it with my moisturizer. I absolutely love how it looks on the skin, it appears really natural. Also it matches my skin tone perfectly.

Too Faced Matte Eyeshadow Palette: I've been using at least one eyeshadow in this palette every day of this month. My favorite color is the matte purple color, which is surprisingly wearable. I've been experimenting more with my eye makeup and that color in particular has helped.

L'Oreal Color Riche Eyeliner in White: For months I've been looking for a white eyeliner that is pigmented and long wearing. This one is great~! It's creamy and applies really nicely on my waterline. It hasn't irritated my eyes at all.

Benefit's BeneBalm: I have never been able to rock red lips, in my opinion. This is great for me, because it offers a red tint that I think looks really nice. It isn't super bold and I've gotten tons of compliments on my lips while wearing this.

●☆● ☆● ☆● ☆● Nail Polish ●☆● ☆● ☆● ☆●

Fire Fairy Nail Art: I am in love with this tutorial I did, {click here} if you want to know how I did it. This is honestly one of my favorite nail art designs I've ever done and I just love how it looks. I haven't done anything with rhinestones in years and now I remember how much I love them.

●☆● ☆● ☆● ☆● Anime ●☆● ☆● ☆● ☆●

Kill la Kill: I finally started this anime, after hearing about it for months. I really am enjoying it so far, I'm eight episodes in, and I've found it to be a unique anime, compared to what I hear about and watch. I am watching the english dub, and I do find that the voices fit the characters nicely.

Sword Art Online II: I'm not a huge fan of the first season, so I gave the second one a try. I love the first arc of the second season, the Gun Gale Online arc, because of one of my new favorite anime characters, Sinon. I'll be talking more about her in a future 30 Day Anime Challenge post, so look out for that.

●☆● ☆● ☆● ☆●  Video Games / Apps ●☆● ☆● ☆● ☆●

Line Play: This is such a great app for when you're bored. This game is like Sims, but so much cuter. You design your character, house, and play games to ear money. It would be fun to play with you guys, it's free, so if you make an account, it would be fun to play with you guys. My username is LolliGurlz, and just leave your username in the comments.

I hope you guys enjoyed this favorites post. Share some of your favorites from this past month in the comments below, I love to hear about what you guys are enjoying. Also if you have/make a Line Play account, leave your username in a comment so I can add you. Thank you guys so much for reading and I'll see you at my next post.
