Best and Worst Anime of 2015~!

Hey Guys~!

Around this time last year, I shared my favorite and least favorite anime I saw in 2014. Well, now it's time for the 2015 edition. Mini disclaimer, not everything on this list came out in 2015, these are just the shows I watched this year. The order they are listed in is not how I would rank them. Also I may love/hate something and you can have the opposite opinion, please no fighting in the comments So let's start~~!

We're going to start with my least favorite anime so we can end this post on a more positive note. Also, I didn't have many anime that I disliked this year, so that's pretty sweet.

Another

My friend recommended this to me, mainly because I do enjoy horror anime, and after watching it, I was so confused. Everything felt super predictable, except for the ending. Also I found it overly gorey, and gore usually doesn't bother me. It honestly gave me nightmares and no other anime has done that. And it's not even that scary, so I just don't like.

Akame Ga Kill

I was reading the manga for this, and when I heard there was an anime, I decided to check it out. My brother and I decided to watch it together, and at the sixth episode, our favorite character died. I knew about this from the manga, but everything else that happens in the anime doesn't happen in the manga. In the anime, my favorite character is killed in the last two minutes of the episode, for no reason. That's how I feel about this anime, things happen for no reason.

Tokyo Ghoul: √A

I liked the first season of Tokyo Ghoul, but I just don't like where the story went. I don't like Kaneki as a character, so with all the focus on him, I just didn't enjoy it. I may try to watch it again, but for now I'm not a huge fan.

Sword Art Online II
{Only the first part}

I've talked a lot about how much I enjoyed the first arc of this anime. But if you're new, this is the sequel to Sword Art Online, which I'm not the hugest fan of, where Kirito has to enter a new game in order to stop a murderer who's targeting the top players. One of these players is Sinon, who is using this game as a way of coping with a tragic event in her childhood. I found the anime stunning, the environment in the game was beautiful. Sinon became one of my favorite anime characters and I found Kirito more bearable here. This placement is only for the first arc, I found the second half to be boring and pointless.

Seraph of the End / Owari no Seraph
{Season I}

This anime is just what I've been looking for. I love vampires, and this has been my favorite series. The story follows Yuichiro, who escapes from the vampires who destroyed the world and joins the army. There he meets Shinoa, Yoichi, Kimizuki, and Mitsuba, and they become a vampire hunting team. I can't say too much without spoiling, but if you're looking for an action, vampire series with some light hearted moments, check it out. Also Shinoa is my favorite character and the living embodiment of my personality.

Yona of the Dawn

Another visually stunning series. Yona of the Dawn follows the journey of Princess Yona, who after a tragic event is forced to leave the palace with her guard Hak. They then search for the other dragon warriors who were profecised to aid Yona in her quest to save her kingdom. This series is quite light hearted, with some romantic moments too. The action is also well done, which I wasn't expecting. I really hope there will be another season, because I want to see where the plot continues.

Fairy Tail

This shouldn't have been hard to predict, at all. This year in particular one of my favorite arcs in the manga, Tartaros, was animated and I was fully satisfied with it. Of course the episode 413 Days, a Gray x Juvia episode came out and it was perfect. I've talked a lot in previous posts about my love of Fairy Tail, specifically Juvia, and it has been the only lengthy anime I've enjoyed watching.

Future Diary / Mirrai Nikki

I needed something creepy on this list. I've meant to watch this anime for years and I finished it over the summer. It was an interesting premise, God is dying and he selects twelve people to fight to become the next God. I didn't find it scary or gorey, and overall really liked it. I did find Yuki to be annoying, and Yuno was enjoyable, but my favorite character was Minene. If you like a psychological anime with a mystery twisted in, check it out.

Kamisama Kiss
{Season II}

This was the first anime I watched in 2015, and it didn't disapoint. I watched the first season last year, and was excited to find out about the new season. There isn't a main plot, unlike the first season which was about Nanami learning to become a God, and instead there are mini arcs. I was hoping there would be more development in Nanami and Tomoe's relationship, but overall is was a very cute and happy anime.

I hope you guys enjoyed today's post~! In the comments below let me know what your favorite and least favorite anime were this year. And please, no fighting. I love getting recommendations from you guys, so please leave them cause I love hearing from you guys. Thank you guys so much for reading and I'll see you at my next post.

  6. Aww it's a shame you didn't enjoy Root A, I thought it was a pretty good closure. I totally expected Fairy tail to appear here, I haven't caught up on the anime lately so I definitely need to get onto that during 2016! This is probably the first "best anime of 2015" posts i've seen that doesn't include One Punch Man lmao
